The Bible

Ancient texts and religions used to include references to both the Great Mother/Goddess AND the Great Father/God. Both had an equal function in society. Both were revered for their virtues. I know that I am romanticizing the concept, but wouldn't it be great if we could cast out the religious one-sided of most modern major religions? Maybe even worship two deities? Of course, that probably has its own issues, but I think that could be worked out.

I think that the Bible should be rewritten with two deities, male and female (to reflect male and female energies in the world), with emphasis on the fact that we all have both of these characteristics in us to varying degrees, and add to the Bible, to bring things up to date.

Or scrap most of the Bible, saving only historical events (including the destruction of the matriarchal component in society) and start again from now.

Has anyone ever read a version of the Bible written from a female point of view? I think there was one written at some point. If it hasn't been written, someone should definitely work on that. It might give certain Xtians a new, more enlightened perspective.
