The Bachelors

This past weekend was a double bachelor party. Two friends of mine (Justin and Scot) are getting married, and we did the whole bachelor party thing, our style. (No, they are not marrying each other.) This tradition does back five years. It consists of the following:

  1. The victim(s) get one wish, and that wish is to be respected throughout the whole affair, no matter how long it lasts. These often last a weekend.
  2. Booze, and plenty of it.
  3. Women, and plenty of them.
  4. Food. Specifically Schwartz' smoked meat. At least two briskets.
  5. Matching T-shirts. Custom made.

Justin lives in Milwaukee. Matt and cousin Markus have plenty of money and time on their hands. With plenty of planning (naturally SAM, Justin's fiance, was in on it), they arrived at Justin's place of work dressed as the Blues Brothers. The receptionist said as they walked in, "I know who you are! He's THAT way!" She gestured toward one of the conference rooms.

They burst through the door. Everyone stopped talking. They all had enormous grins on their faces, except for the victim, who was, possibly for the first time in his life, at a complete and total loss for words. After a 45-second staredown, he managed to finally say, "What...what are you doing here?"

"We're on a mission from Gad," Matt said, probably.

They kidnapped him and drove him to Chicago where they partied. I don't know much else. There are pictures that I hope to post at some point.

The Montreal portion is where I got involved. It is all available right here. I'd just like to point out that it is amazing how many girls/women you meet when you are with a bunch of guys all dressed the same odd way. The details are here. Check it out while you can, because this entry may have to go private very soon.
