I am very pissed. You may recall that my brothers are being fucked by the government. Well, here's how. #3: The younger older one is now out, but can only exist in a box, sort of. a) He can't leave the county. Corollary: He can't ever watch a movie in the theatre because of where he is. b) He can't own a cell phone, pager or computer. c) He can't ever go to the US. Ever. Not for the rest of his life. d) He can appeal his being fired, but that'll take about 2-3 years before it is resolved. e) He can't get EI because his employer says that he was fired because of his own misconduct. Sounds like any employer with a grudge could do or say anything to fuck your life up for a while. a) and b) may be lifted if the trial happens and he is found innocent (which he is as far as I am concerned). The thing is, it will take months to go through the gigabytes of wiretap info. They don't expect it to go to trial for 2-3 years. They are telling the public that they caught a great white when they caught a minnow (one that they bred, by the way). The irony is, this has nothing to do with him. They used him to get to my other brother. Here's something: There were 4 accused. Both of my brothers, an American and a British guy. Because of 9/11, whenever a case like this comes up, Immigration Canada steps in and asks questions to make sure that they are dealing with Canadian citizens and if they are not, come up with an appropriate plan. They interviewed my brothers and the American, but not the British guy. The three interviewees had one thing in common: they were all black. You would think that they would want to deal with the non-Canadians carefully, wouldn't you? The British guy has no Canadian citizenship at all.
