The Catholic Women's League

Gay marriage is close to being completely recognized and legalized in many parts of Canada. Luckily, The Catholic Women's League is there to make sure we don't all wind up in hell by allowing it to happen.

CWL leaders spewed forth a torrent of disgusting, hateful and inaccurate testimony to the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights. She said:

"To redefine marriage to be more inclusive of homosexuality is to create a new morality in which homosexuality is not merely tolerated but is normalized and would branch out into sexual activity with babies, children of both sexes, and with animals."

The country's first openly gay MP, Svend Robinson, was there trying to call Rita Curley on her offensive remarks to the committee. I have never liked this guy more than now. He said:

"I'm disappointed that no other member of this committee has spoken out. If this kind of hatred and venom were directed at blacks or aboriginal people, does anyone think that members around this committee would be silent and just listen as this kind of hatred is spewed? I don't think so."

It was a friend who sent me the links. He said:

They are a bunch of bigoted fuck-heads, but they do have a point. Allowing gay marriages opens the moral door all kinds of rather unorthodox couplings like incest and bestiality, I mean we used to think that two guys going at it was wrong and immoral, what about all of those other sexual acts that we used to think were immoral, are they? Chances are it would indeed reduce the importance of monogamy as well... The thing that these bitches do not get is that that is a good thing, monogamy and heterosexuality should be a choice not a tradition, and there would be fewer broken homes if infidelity was no big deal.

Basically, he is questioning whether or not any sexual taboo really is taboo. I would say that incest and child sex is still taboo, until enough people in the relevant communities say otherwise. I also said:

First it was interracial marriages, now gay marriages. I almost agree with one thing though: when gay marriages are allowed, polyamory will be the next big issue. Actually, it is a big issue. Polys are already making political movements to become recognized. That will get confusing.

It's funny. Some still believe that interracial relationships are the next thing to incest, etc.

Many gay people do place little value in fidelity and "legitimate" monogamous, emotional and loving relationships. You know why? Because they have nothing to aspire to. They can't marry the ones they want to marry, so they just get affection wherever they can, or they give up and say, "Oh well, I can't have the Big Love of marriage, so I'll just do whatever."

If CWL really wanted gays to become less promiscuous and more "responsible", then they would support gay marriage, rather than oppose it.

But now gays are saying that they, too, want their love recognized. They want the Big Love, and the house and the picket fence and 2.4 kids in suburbia. Clearly the community as a whole has stopped "giving up" and is "growing up", if you believe that the picket fence thing is a grownup aspiration.

There is no way I would stand for being compared to a child molester. The gay community shouldn't either. Catholic Women's League. By the way, when you think of a homosexual child molester, who do you think of? Catholic priests, that's who.

How representative of Catholic women is the CWL anyway? This is bizarre, even though I know very well that may of those people will consider my sexual relationships (with white women) abominations.

They're fucking loony, and that's the size of it.

The look: astonished by bigotry
The feel: shocked
The taste: sour
